Some of the Fundraising events during 2010
February 19th. Derbyshire Constabulary Male Voice Choir
We had a very entertaining evening from the Derbyshire Male Voice Choir which was held at St Peters Church in Stapenhill.
This event raised £270.
March 12th League of Friends Quiz
Hospital porter Steve Howe organised a quiz for the League of Friends. This was held at the Marstons Social Club on Shobnall Road and is becoming a annual event.
Easter Raffle
A grand total of £2449.40 had been raised from various selling venues, along with selling tickets in the hospital foyer for two weeks.
May 20th Liberation day
South Derbyshire Liberation day, May 20th was held at the Bretby Conference Centre. We held a teddy Tombola which was very popular and raised £67.10. The theme this year was the 40's with plenty of participants dressing up in wartime uniform's.
June 20th Craft Fayre at the Waterfront at Barton Marina.
Three volunteers braved the elements and attended the Craft Fayre.
Car Boot Sale June 27th.
This was attended by Wendy and Julie but proved to be hard work for little reward The day raised £10
Overseal Gala July 10th
Pauline, Bill, Wendy and Julie attended and a grand total of £132.20 was raised.
July 9th Queen Concert
This was the first time we have held an event of this nature. Organised by our Vice-President Nolan Salmon, who in turn called on a group of his friends. it proved to be a
resounding success , the weather was perfect and we raised well over £6,000 which was shared between the League of Friends and the Scanner Appeal
Clay Mills Pumping Station August 29th and 30th
Ann, Norma, Peter and Rosemary attended. Raising a total £43.36 was raised.
Annual Sponsored Dog walk. September 12th
This event organised by Rita raised a grand total of £823.98.
Draycott Show September 1st
A very successful day with Pat, Graham and Mike attending. They raised £141.50
Fashion Show October 8th
Another very successful evening arranged by Pat and Mike. The clothes were supplied by Bonita from Tutbury and the evening
raised £413.16.
Autumn Raffle
Tickets were sold for two weeks in the hospital and for one weekend at Asda supermarket,and Bretby Garden Centre
October Craft Fayre at Barton Marina
Another bitter cold day raising £131.75. This event was attended by Rosemary, Nita and Wendy.
