How You Can Help
The League of Friends is constantly requiring help and assistance and these come
in a variety of ways. If you feel that you have some spare time in which you
would like to help a worthwhile cause it would be much appreciated. The League
are a small group of around 35 active volunteers, but we are always on the look
out for more volunteers to help us to support Queens Hospital. We have recently
purchased toys for the new play areas in the Orthopeadic outpatients (see right)
and Outpatients areas and furniture for a rest room on Ward 4, all resently
opened by Paula Clarke, Chief Executive, Queens Hospital . In 2010 we celebrate
30 years of fundraising and we aim to make it a very special year, increasing
the £1.2 million we raised to date.
The recently opened shop is be an improvement on the table top sales we had previously. We stock a variety of items including our very popular donated books, C.D’s and Jigsaws. We welcome donations of books, bric a brac, jigsaws and knitted baby clothes all of which we have a demand for.
If you have any unwanted books The League of Friends hold regular book sales and would welcome any donations. Alternatively, any unwanted magazines are appreciated and used for hospital waiting rooms.
Finally, if you would like to make a financial donation to The League of
Friends please feel free to contact us via the information given on the Contact
The League of Friends link. Any donations can be made to a specific ward or
department within the hospital and will be used for a worthwhile cause.
If you would like any further details about any of the above information
please feel free to phone or write to The League of Friends and we will be happy
to talk to you. Contact details are here.
