Burton Hospitals League of Friends has been running for over thirty years and has so far raised over one million pounds. The Friends are a registered charity whose aim is to support the patients and staff of Queens and Barton Cottage hospitals by providing extras and essentials, which wouldn't otherwise be readily available.

 

The charity is run by a group of volunteers who regularly give their time and energy in order to help those within the hospitals.The League of Friends use fundraising to purchase a wide variety of objects for the hospitals.


This includes small essential and luxuries that improve the comfort and of patients and staff (such as fresh flowers, televisions, emergency toiletry packs and Christmas decorations). The Friends also help to fund the mobile hairdresser who visits the hospital on a regular basis. Furthermore, the charity helps the hospitals to purchase larger and more expensive pieces of medical equipment. This has included Ripple Mattresses, Patient Lifting Aids and Hoists, Defibrillators and Blood Pressure Monitors.

Come along and walk your dog at the Sponsored Dog walk, 11th September at Branston Water Park. Just turn up on the day

 

Dance the night away at our Barn Dance, Stretton Priory Centre 30th September.

 

2 events to choose from on October the 14th, a Fashion Show, Tutbury Village Hall or A Night at the Dogs, an evening of dog racing at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium.

 

Back by great demand Queen UK for a Queen Tribute Night on 4th November at Coors Brewery Centre. Supported by The Fab Four and Queens Hospitals very own The Pharmas

 

Buy your Christmas Plants at the Plant Sale in the Main Foyer in the Hospital, 5th - 9th December.

 

Gresley Male Voice Choir will be performing on April 14th 2012 at St Modwens Church, Burton Market Place.

 

Dont foget our Bingo first Tuesday of every month at Burton Town Hall.
